Launched in 1985, Jalapeno Brothers has become a mainstay of the Burlington, Vermont, music scene. The band has received widespread critical acclaim for their five independently released albums, Capsicum, That'll Never Happen No More, Ride The Blinds, Growing, and Coral Bay . Glen Schweitzer and fellow Jalapeno Brothers have taken their unique sound to unexpected places throughout the U.S. and abroad.

In 1990 Glen Schweitzer and Jalapeno Brothers were invited to headline the prestigious Hungarian West International Blues Festival in Szombathley, Hungary. Among the first Americans to perform in Hungary and other eastern block countries since World War II, the band's concert was televised, simulcast throughout most of Eastern Europe. This tour consisted of concerts, political rallies, and club appearances in Hungary, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, and France. The band has also toured the United States, and have annually visited the U.S. and British Virgin Islands since 1993.

Glen Schweitzer

As founding member of the Jalapeno Brothers, guitarist/singer/songwriter Glen Schweitzer has established himself as one of New England's most innovative acoustic finger pickers.

In addition to playing with the Jalapeno Brothers, Glen is a session player whose songs have appeared on a series of compilation albums including Homes for the Holidays and Best of the Green Mountain Blues (volumes 1, 2, and 3). Songs released on the latter have received worldwide airplay and have made Glen a sought after songwriter and the recipient of numerous ASCAP development stipends. In 1998 Glen was distinguished as Vermont's top singer/songwriter at the state's Acoustic Guitar Summit, sponsored by Gibson Guitars.

Glen Schweitzer has opened for and shared the stage with many greats over the years, including home town buddies Phish, whose members have been known to sit in with Jalapeno Brothers when not on the road themselves. Glen has also opened for and jammed with Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Outlaws, Delbert Mclinton, Toy Caldwell (Marshall Tucker Band), Hot Tuna, Kingfish, Ziggy Marley, Taj Mahal, Steppenwolf, Dave Mason (Traffic), Maria Muldour, Jonathan Edwards, John Hamond, Jr., Marc Farner (Grand Funk Railroad), Vassar Clements, Buddy Cage (New Riders of the Purple Sage), Rick Danko, and the late Paul Butterfield. Current projects underway include development of an upcoming children's album and plans for a possible tour with world renowned fiddler Vassar Clements and New Riders veteran and pedal steel master Buddy Cage.
